Ingredients (Serves 6–8)
- 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook sausage until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add cream cheese: Stir cream cheese into the hot sausage until fully melted and combined.
- Layer the crust: Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish, sealing seams.
- Add filling: Spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
- Top layer: Unroll the second can of dough and place it on top of the filling, sealing seams.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm.
