Introduction
The Pineapple Pecan Cheese Ball is a savory-sweet appetizer that never fails to impress. Made with cream cheese, crushed pineapple, green onions, and crunchy pecans, it strikes the perfect balance between creamy, tangy, and nutty. It’s easy to make ahead and pairs beautifully with crackers, crostini, or fresh veggies.
Ingredients
- 2 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup crushed pineapple, well-drained
- ½ cup finely chopped green onions
- ½ cup finely chopped red bell pepper (optional for color and crunch)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted if desired (for coating)
Instructions
- Mix the base: In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, drained pineapple, green onions, bell pepper (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well blended.
- Shape into a ball: Scoop the mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap. Use the wrap to help you form it into a ball. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Roll in pecans: Spread chopped pecans on a plate. Unwrap the cheese ball and gently roll it in the pecans, pressing lightly so they stick.
- Serve or store: Serve immediately with crackers, or rewrap and refrigerate until ready to serve. Let it sit at room temp for 10–15 minutes before serving for best spreadability.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve with Ritz crackers, wheat thins, pretzel chips, or veggie sticks.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or a few extra pineapple tidbits for presentation.
Enjoy !!
