Ingredients (Makes 16 squares)

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter & sugar: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar until smooth and glossy. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: Whisk eggs and vanilla into the butter-sugar mixture until combined.
  4. Add dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold gently into wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate: Fold in chocolate chips or chunks for extra fudginess.
  6. Bake: Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until edges are set but the center is still slightly soft.
  7. Cool & cut: Let brownies cool completely before slicing into squares for clean cuts.

Tips & Variations

  • For extra gooey brownies, slightly underbake by 2 minutes.
  • Add a swirl of peanut butter or Nutella into the batter before baking.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt flakes right out of the oven for a sweet-salty finish.
  • Use espresso powder (1 teaspoon) in the batter to enhance chocolate flavor.

Enjoy !!
