This cabbage and ground beef recipe is a simple, one-pan meal that’s full of savory flavor and satisfying textures. With tender cabbage, seasoned beef, and optional add-ins like tomatoes or rice, it’s budget-friendly, nourishing, and perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz / 400g) diced tomatoes (optional)
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter (if needed)
- Optional: cooked rice or potatoes for serving
Instructions:
- Brown the Beef:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed. - Add Garlic & Seasoning:
Stir in the minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 1–2 minutes. - Add Cabbage:
Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Stir and cook for about 10–12 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender. If it sticks, add a splash of water or olive oil. - Add Tomatoes (Optional):
Stir in the diced tomatoes with their juices and let everything simmer together for another 5 minutes to blend the flavors. - Serve:
