Introduction:
These crispy cheesy sliced baked potatoes are everything you want in a side dish: buttery edges, soft centers, and loads of melted cheese tucked between thin potato slices. It’s easy, crowd-pleasing, and absolutely irresistible!
Ingredients:
- 4 medium potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), thinly sliced (about 1/8 inch)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan (optional)
- Optional: chopped chives, green onions, or sour cream for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
Set to 200°C (400°F). Lightly grease a baking dish or oven-safe skillet. - Prep Potatoes:
In a bowl, toss potato slices with melted butter, olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well coated. - Assemble:
Stack the potato slices vertically (like dominoes) into the dish or skillet. Tuck shredded cheese between some of the slices and sprinkle any extra cheese on top. - Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for another 20–25 minutes, or until edges are crispy and golden. - Finish & Serve:
Top with parmesan and garnish with chives or green onions if desired. Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream or ranch on the side.
