Crispy Cheesy Sliced Baked Potatoes: The Comfort Food Everyone Loves

Introduction:
These crispy cheesy sliced baked potatoes are everything you want in a side dish: buttery edges, soft centers, and loads of melted cheese tucked between thin potato slices. It’s easy, crowd-pleasing, and absolutely irresistible!


Ingredients:

  • 4 medium potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), thinly sliced (about 1/8 inch)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan (optional)
  • Optional: chopped chives, green onions, or sour cream for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Set to 200°C (400°F). Lightly grease a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  2. Prep Potatoes:
    In a bowl, toss potato slices with melted butter, olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  3. Assemble:
    Stack the potato slices vertically (like dominoes) into the dish or skillet. Tuck shredded cheese between some of the slices and sprinkle any extra cheese on top.
  4. Bake:
    Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for another 20–25 minutes, or until edges are crispy and golden.
  5. Finish & Serve:
    Top with parmesan and garnish with chives or green onions if desired. Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream or ranch on the side.
