A refreshingly zesty, sweet, and creamy drink made with whole limes and sweetened condensed milk—perfect for hot summer days!
Ingredients:
- 4 limes (washed and scrubbed thoroughly)
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk (plus more to taste)
- Ice, for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the Limes:
- Wash and scrub limes well, as you’ll be using the whole peel.
- Cut each lime into quarters or large chunks.
- First Blend:
- Add half of the chopped limes to a blender with 2 cups of water and 1/4 cup of sugar.
- Blend until well combined (but not too long to avoid over-processing the peel).
- Strain:
- Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove pulp and peel pieces.
- Discard the solids.
- Second Blend:
- Repeat the process with the remaining limes, 2 cups of water, and remaining sugar.
- Strain into the same pitcher.
- Add Creaminess:
- Stir in 1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk.
- Taste and add more condensed milk if desired for extra sweetness and creaminess.
- Serve:
- Pour over ice and enjoy immediately!
Tips:
- This drink is best served fresh. Blending limes too far ahead may make it bitter over time.
- For an extra twist, try adding a pinch of sea salt or some fresh mint leaves.
- You can swap out sweetened condensed milk for coconut condensed milk for a dairy-free twist.
